Italian-Slovak economic cooperation: a shared mission
On January 14 and 15, the President of the Slovak Republic, Peter Pellegrini, visited the Embassy in Rome on the occasion of the celebration of the National Day of the Slovak Republic, an important opportunity to strengthen institutional, economic, and cultural ties between Italy and Slovakia.
During the visit, several key institutional events took place, including the event titled “Potential and Specificities of Italian Regions and the Role of Honorary Consulates in the Development of Bilateral Economic Cooperation.” The meeting, opened by Hon. Alberto Gusmeroli, President of the 10th Commission for Productive Activities, Tourism, and Trade of the Chamber of Deputies, saw the participation of our CEO, Luigi Cuzzolin, in his capacity as Honorary Consul General of the Slovak Republic in Milan. Representing Lombardy, he highlighted the region’s strategic role in commerce, key investments, and development projects that can further strengthen economic relations between the two countries.








Another highly significant event, titled “Why Slovakia? Fit for Investing and Trade,” was held at the headquarters of Confindustria on Via dell’Astronomia. Organized by Ambassador Karla Matiasko Wursterova, the event welcomed 150 representatives from institutions, investment agencies, business associations, and 65 Italian companies. Moderated by our CEO Luigi Cuzzolin, the meeting was an important occasion to discuss investment opportunities in Slovakia. Among the attendees, in addition to President Peter Pellegrini, were prominent figures such as Barbara Cimmino, Vice President for Export and Investment Attraction at Confindustria, Adolfo Urso, Minister of Enterprises and Made in Italy, Denisa Sakova, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Slovakia, and Matteo Zoppas, President of ICE-Agency.
These meetings reaffirmed the importance of economic cooperation between Italy and Slovakia, highlighting investment opportunities and the key role that institutions and businesses can play in strengthening bilateral relations.
